Pete & Natalie’s Wedding Photos from the Haycock Hotel
Wedding Photography at the Haycock Hotel - Peter and Natalie commissioned me to be their wedding photographer at Wansford’s Haycock Hotel over 12 months before of their wedding. During the weeks leading up I made the connection that I had been at the Haycock for a memorable wedding the same weekend the year before. Memorable because that day it snowed for 24 hours almost non-stop! I’m pleased that by stark contrast this year the weather was altogether more spring like and the wedding party and guests enjoyed the outside areas and gardens, a big reason why many choose the Haycock for their wedding day.

My photography coverage began with some of Natalies preparations in the on-site salon before I turned my attention to photos of her dress and jewellery in one of the Haycocks courtyard loft rooms.
Natalie had contacted me following our pre-wedding meeting to tell me that she arranged a special wedding day surprise for Pete in the shape of a De Loreon car. A car which frankly needs little introduction and an icon which everyone instantly recognised as it growled over the bridge towards the gathering of waiting wedding guests and family at the front of the hotel.
Some last minute fixes to the gents attire, namely cravats where undertaken by Dave at Vow Bridal who supplied the menswear.
Note: I just love the old lady taking a nap before it all happens!
The wedding was held in the ceremony room of the Haycock, which makes for a close and emotional environment for all. ( For those wondering; To achieve the photographs you see here I used the Elinchrom Ranger Quadra to light up what photographically speaking is quite a dark room.)
Following a wonderful wedding service, we all headed out to the sun awaiting in the gardens of the Haycock. After a while of drinks and some great guitar playing from Steve Bean, classical guitarist we shot the family groups before the wedding breakfast and speeches began.
As the sun made its way down Natalie, Peter and I slipped away down to the idyllic river nene a short walk and a great draw for many wedding couples. I wanted to shoot a series of photographs of them enjoying some time relaxing by the riverside and catching up which each other. The light was beautiful and Pete and Natalie despite their own reservations ahead of their wedding day where a pleasure to work with and photograph.
Before the evening swung in to full flow I ran a 45 minute photobooth with my usual whitbackground and studio kit. Natalie and Peter where keen to have their evening and day guests kept well entertained ahead of the first dance.
Natalie and Peter had contacted and booked their favorite musicians to play for the wedding reception. A guy who they had seen many times and followed during their University days, and I don’t think will mind me saying where a bit overwhelmed to have him to themselves on their big day.
Dave McPhearson; guitarst, singer/ songwriter and all-round great bloke lifted the evening reception to a new high with his incredible solo perfomance’s of some classic rock and pop tracks. Dave rocked it like the true professional he is, his pedigree has been earned from many years touring the World and around UK really showed.
