Leanne & Graham commissioned me for their wedding photography at Belton Woods Hotel near Grantham after we’d met during a wedding fayre. The couple were very keen that their wedding photographer would be discreet and as much as possible be able to retell their carefully planned wedding day through natural, un-staged photographs. Belton Woods Hotel is a very large hotel with a pga golf course, so getting around was always going to involve quite a bit of walking! My coverage started early in the beauty salon with a few shots of the bridesmaids as they had the hair done. Leanne’s suite was next and I aimed to photograph her and her bridesmaids (when they returned) and family getting ready for the day ahead. I wanted the images to be very fly on the wall and used my small fuji x-pro1 professional camera for the majority of the photo’s seen in the post below, this little camera packs a punch but is extremely discreet and much less obvious in the confines of a smaller room. As the groom was also at the hotel I joined him and his groomsmen in the bar as they where attempting to pin their button holes.

I continued the theme with more documentary style black and white photographs. After some time spent photographing table decorations and details in main room where the wedding breakfast would later be served I quickly re-joined Leanne. The shot of the 2 bridesmaids in the window was taken as they waited to see Leanne in her wedding dress for the first time, the following shot is a record of them steadying her nerves! The father of the bride came in and had I few minutes to capture that magic connection that only a father and daughter share on a wedding day. The wedding ceremony was a heartfelt affair, drinks and canapés followed and after short while we headed outside for throwing of the bridal boquet and 30 minutes of group photographs. Following a great judicial display by Graham’s brothers during the best man speeches we headed to a couple of areas in the hotel and then out on to the golf course for some quiet photographs together. My full day photography coverage at Belton Woods hotel then ended shortly after the first dance.
The British Memorial Flight – A pre-booked fly past co-ordinated to coincide with the signing of the register! The Lancaster from the BMF rather took centre stage with guests for a brief moment as Leanne and Graham signed the register. I broke from photographing the signing of register and grabbed a few shots through the window for posterity.
I’ve photographed at Belton woods many times and have been recommended by the venue.
